Shell URT Advanced vs VP C16 & MS109

So...how's the new Shell Race gas compare with VP? I'm quite impressed with Shell's URT Advanced!! When comparing it to C16 (VP's leaded race gas), it creates very similar results on the dyno. What’s even cooler is the fact it’s not leaded, which means decreased maintenance level from not having to use a Leaded fuel (I.e. Plug changes, increased Oil changes, 02 sensor changes, cat converter friendly, etc).

So, now compare it to VP’s MS109 (VP's unleaded race gas) …It’s 5 octane numbers HIGHER than VP's MS109 unleaded, which is 105 octane. Additionally MS109 is oxygenated & the Shell URT Advanced fuel is not, which means you don’t have to make fuel curve changes as you would with the MS109, which has a 13.41 stoich point. Calibration wise, its really close to 93 octane.

Would love to hear others feedback & thoughts!

A little birdie just told me the JPC 9 second N/A 2011 was running the Shell URT Advanced fuel during it's record setting run. Looks like this stuff is the real deal!

I would love to see this stuff in Bowling Green KY by NMRA finals at Beech Bend next year. I know of a KOS competitor that brought many gallons of this stuff with him for the competition this year.

Chris at SCT noted we could increase the boost more if we wanted with the Shell URT Advanced. I might look into obtaing a smaller pulley later.

My best times before using Shell URT Advanced was 11.5 x 122mph. We were able to increase the timing a good amount with Shell URT Advanced. My current best time with Shell URT Advanced is 10.89 at 129mph in the 1/4 mile.

Lourenco - Welcome! I copied your post from the Shell URT giveaway thread and put it here because I thought it was really awesome info.

I'm curious, what kind of fuel were you running when you went 11.5? The 10.89 ET was from an increase in timing alone? If so, that's crazy impressive.

It is my understanding that Lourenco's 2012 GT is now the fastest Magnuson Supercharged Mustang in the country.

The cool thing is that there is a good bit left in the car and it is daily driven.
