I hate the price - $1000
But...
Listen to the BULLET system (not the Route 66) and tell me what you think.
http://www.bbexhaust.com/New/auto-flash.asp
I think that is how the car should sound.
I can get 2 Magnaflow Mufflers welded in to the stock system for $350 total, and the Corvette guys say it is loud, but what Vette guys think is LOUD and what I think is LOUD are two different things.
I had the Magnaflows on my 03 Cobra and they weren't loud at all.
I had Magnapacks on my 2000 GT and they sounded good.

I thought about SLP also.
I just wish there was a decent exhaust (even just mufflers welded in) for about $400.
The stock exhaust system is high quality and flows well, it just sounds like sh-t.
Magnaflows are $80 a muffler and can be welded in, but they don't sound like anything. I might be able to get Magnapacks welded in.
I have heard of one guy who cut out the stock mufflers and welded in straight pipes, only cost him $100, but that doesn't mean it sounds good or even loud.
Right now I will research all options.

Get over it..Leave Vette Stock...save the G note for the Cobra...:)
Gotta love stock Vette's ,,better resale value!!!

Howard look into GHL exhaust also. They make high quality systems and I LOVE the sound. Thats what I have on the ZO6.
Sounds even better with headers.
SLP is loud and sounds good also, but if you ever got headers it would be WAY TOO LOUD. The SLP system doesnt even have a muffler for the vette system. I know a friend who had to go through this and he had to sell SLP's.

Jim V -
But it has NO SOUND at all, none, zero, I mean my Lexus SUV sounds better.
Wickky -
Where are you at now???
I would gladly bring it over, even to install the exhaust I end up buying.
Zee -
I have heard the GHL - sounds great also.
Like Jim said a "G" buys alot of performance in the Cobra, I want to find decent weld in mufflers if possible that are loud and sound good.
Time to hit the SEARCH button

Howard, the Bullet exhaust sounded nice, but it ain't worth a thousand bucks. I think SLP is the way to go. But like you said, "time to hit the search button."

The SLP doesn't sound good after listening to the clip and it still costs $900.
I think the weld in Magnaflows or Magnapacks for around $300 including install is probably the way to go. I heard the clips, they sound decent.

Just scroll down to the Yellow Vette
Money no object:
B&B BUllets sound te best by far.
They just might be a little too loud for the wifey :)

Howard I've been looking around at exhausts for the new Vettes, I had no idea they were so expensive!
If you say money is no object, check out the Corsa Touring system:
Corsa exhaust (http://www.corsaperf.com/c6.htm)
It's about mid-page on the left. Just scroll your mouse over clips 1-5. I think the Touring system sounds insane.

Thanks for keeping an ear out.
I have heard Corsa before, I am not a big fan.
I said if money was no object, which it is :)
I still think the B&B Bullet sounds best, but may be a little loud for the wife.
The Magnaflow weld-ins might be a little quiet for my tastes, but the price is right.
It is gonna come down to B&B or GHL vs Magnaflow.

It is a Chevy, I just want it to sound MEAN!
Right now it sounds like, well it has no sound.
If I listen to KYW news I can't hear my exhaust :(
My LS1 Trans Am with a 3" exhaust cutout sounded flat out NASTY, definitely mean and loud.

B&B bullets do sound great. $1000 is expensive but then again, look at the Corsa for the 05 GTO's. There like $1200. I put an SLP catback on my GTO which isn't that loud but I am planning headers so i did that for a reason.

Damm $1000!? for a catback for the c6?
I paid 650 for mine for the zo6. Whats the reason for the price increase.

Sounds like catbacks for the STi...they start at like $400 and go all the way up to $1500 for the good stuff, and that's only one pipe...no dual exhaust here.

Yea but in the LS1 world they all about give the same power.
You just pick one that sounds the best to you.
Quality wise, Borla, GHL, and magnaflow are all top notch.

On the C6 Vettes there is NO performance increase, it is all for sound.
The lowest price for a full set-up I have found is Tbyrne - they have the SLP for $810 + shipping or the Bullets for $930 + shipping.
Summit has the Magnaflow 14335 mufflers for $80 each including shipping.
The oly problem is with Magnaflow they have either:
2.25" inlet 2.25" outlet = 14335
or 2.5" inlet 2.5' outlet = 14336
The Vette stock exhaust is 2.5" inlet 2"-2.25" outlet
Most guys do the 14335s and reuse the stock exhaust tips.
