Well not really. You guys know I'm more of a FI guy. But damn...saving money for a blower is tough going. Can't say I'm not tempted by the alure of cheap power.

But in the end, I'm not sure I would be happy with stock power 98% of the time since I don't think I'd be hitting the sauce on the street.

Oh well....

with your stock hypercraptic pistons, it'll take it, but not for long....

if i remember correctly, the day beofore the rental, there was a guy with a green 01 cobra with a 100 shot i think and he was getting tuned. the guy came out with more than 500rwtq!!!! his tq doubled from his n/a pull!! and the hp was up there as well. i was VERY impressed with the outcome and the owner walked out with a smile on face.

At the risk of sparking a religious war .....Aren't the crappy pistons going to be a risk either way? Would the nitrous be "more damaging" than boost? I would have thought the risk was the same: If you ping...you lose....and it's all in the tune...

for the most part yes...but the initial hit of nitrous will cause more stress than the gradual increase from boost...as long as you keep the shot under a 100 you shouldnt have any problems just like with the blower youd want to mainly keep the boost at or below about 9psi....Thats my opinion anyway...

gradual increase in boost, what if its a kb he uses and that air just gets shoved down the engine all at once?

still dont come in as hard and fast as spray does.

Id put a D1SC blower kit on it and forget about it.
Cobra's are too much fun with boost. Centri boost is FUN! They pull so hard and smooth uptop.
My friend Matt (he is on here) had a sprayed cobra, then he too went to a novi setup.

Nitrous is awesome but I just think a 01 cobra would be off better with boost, IMHO.

Zee, I assume your talking about ISDNMatt. 2001 Cobra vert in True Blue like mine, right? I met him at the rental and want a ride in the car next spring when everything is sorted out. :) Boost is my preffered addiction. It's just painful waiting...

I hear ya bro. You got time on your side, you have all winter to save up and be ready for SPRING!
Trust me boosted pre 03 cobras are sweet as FOOK! Much different than a 03 cobra+. More of a light car, spoolin feel.

DO THE D1SC w/ sheetmetal intercooler, I MISS MY COBRA dearly!
Car was straight up NASTY and sounded like a hissing SNAKE!

Come on Alex, you're losing your touch... Electric green was only offered on the 1999 Cobra :)

a 100 shot of Nitrous is going to hit the pistons and rods instantly
with the shock of an extra 100 HP like a hammer
a supercharger will have constant and gradually increasing pressure

It's all dicey with stock internals, anyway

Boost on a stock 01 motor is trouble in the making. Nitro is just plain dangerous IMO. I would get the blower first and then do a built motor as funds allow. Like Kevin said nitro is a hammer , blower is smoother and a bit easier on the motor.

If you are all so worried about the 100 shot initial hit (which his car won't have a problem handling as long as the tune is good), why not just put a progressive??? (although it's kind of a waste with only a 100 shot).

I'd spend the $350 you can get a complete "slightly used" nitrous kit for and put it on untill you have almost enough for the supercharger, than sell that same nitrous kit for the same $350 you bought it for.

Just don't forget your safety items like the WOT switch and your Window switch, and go have some fun!

Here are some people that have BEEN THERE ALREADY, instead of a bunch of people just telling you ITS GONNA BLOW!!!

First, PM Cobra99Dave . He was running 10's at 125 on a STOCK longblock with spray, a 150 shot (he's also selling his kit right now to go turbo/blower).
