Hey everyone. I am in Georgia and need some advise. Clutch is acting up but that is another story. I think I am pegging my MAF because the car is falling on it's face above 5500 rpms. Feels great and pulls like a mofo until then. Ran at the track last night, ran a 11.48 missing 4th gear, MPH was 123 even so. But, after the car warmed up a little, it started with this face falling trick....lol
Anyway, thinking of getting a MAFxtender overnighted here so I can run again before I go home. Problem is, I guess it takes some tuning to work? I was hoping it was just plug and play. I don't have my Predator here so if I have to tune it, I guess that aint gonna work. The car has ALOT in it and would hate to go home with a 11.48. BTW, last run of the night was a 11.68 with only 92 in the 1/8 and 115 in the 1/4 so obviously it's running weird. Any help would be great!
Sounds like someone is having fun with the new found friend (sea level). Hope you get your problems fixed in time. I want to see some 10's.

You wouldn't believe what we have been missing! Feels like I bolted on 200 hp! Hopefully it's the MAF and not something more serious! My clutch hates this stuff though...lol

That sucks so freakin bad that you don't have your predator...in hindsight, you should have brought the predator. :eusa_wall Is there any way possible someone at home can overnight it to you. It would be there on tuesday.

Both the SCT and MAFxtender will provide him the same range he is looking for, but they need to be tuned to work. Also if you just came out of the mountains without a new tune your car is going to run leaner at sea level then it did in the mountains that is one reason it is stronger.

damn scott, thats fuggin sucks bro. i know how much you were looking forward to running the car at sea level. ill be honest bro, what your describing sounds like the reason why us sea level guys dont do the lower. it literally kills the top end, the car just rolls over. fubu just dynoed 2.8 and 6# lower and the car lost over 30 lb tq from 1st run to the next. the heat just kills the eaton down at sea level. way to much boost for the heaton.
as stupid as this sounds , youll probably run better with just the 2.8 on your car down there. with the way you drive , youll probably still rip off a 10!!!
good luck bro , i hope you can work something out before you leave.

Scott,
Sorry to hear about your problems buddy. I just got my internet hooked up this morning or I would have shipped you my MafXtender overnight when you first posted. Sounds like it is clutch time too amigo, maybe a Mcleod Twin in your future ??? Let me know if you can get a tuner to do the work down there and give me a ship to address and I'll overnight it to you if you want. Just make sure you come back to the higher elevations with that 10 sec. slip :eusa_clap

Thanks for the help guys! I may goto the track again with a little less boost and see what shakes loose. The flames are almost done too, so I'll have some pics. It's gotta be heat, because the first pass it ran like a raped ape....hmmm. Maybe some fans and some ice would do the trick? We shall see I guess......
