Well guys I'll be doing the Ported Eaton shortly. I was thinking whether to do a 4lb lower at the same time. I'm currently running the following mods:

2.76 upper, K&N fipk, catless x-pipe, MAC catback, Revolutions chip and ngk's. Should I go with a 4lb lower or ported plenum and tb?? The weather here is cooling down a lot so I'll be doing a HE when spring comes around. What do you guys suggest? I was leaning towards the 4lb lower because I just can't resist the torque. Thanks in advance.

tq is a good thing. Im in the same boat as well. I have a 4lb lower right now just have to install it, not sure if I wanna deal with the extra tq, the car is an animal as it is now. More tq would just be even more useless on the street.

I may get a 2lb just to be safe.

We will have results soon.

Thanks Dom and Broke. Broke I've seen your car run on vids and it is an animal. I think your great driving skills has something to do with it also. I'm torn between the 2lb or 4lb lower. I'll Let you two be the test mules and see how everything turns out. Thanks fella's.

If those are your choices you should get the lower, you'll see much more gain for around the same price.

I personally would go with a ported plenum and tb first. I believe you gotta make that blower as cool as possible to keep it as efficient as possible. Adding the lower will of course bring it out of the efficiency range but the best thing to do would be both.

Right now I have the 2.80 upper, and my next mod is LT's and the ported tb and plenum/accufab. I haven't decided if the accufab is worth the money over the ported stock parts yet

I would go with the 4lb and a 2.90 or 2.93. Putting a 4lb on a 2.76 without long tubes is too much pressure.

JDM suggests to open up the exhaust if you are going upwords of 18psi...

Damn alot of different opinions. You guys have me even more confused. They are all good opinions guys. Now I'm thinking to just have the tb and plenum ported while I have the blower ported also. *ucking mod bug, if anyone has a vaccine for this please let me know.

well I ordered a 2.76, 2.93, and 3.10 with hub from Doug @ Billetflow today, so looks like the 4lb lower will be going on.

2.93 + 4lb lower for street and moderate track use should make close to 16psi, maybe 2.76 if I get antsy and need to yank some stumps out of the ground. I just think the 2.7 + 4lb is a bit too much for my taste and my daily driver so I got an interchangable setup.

My opinion, my car made more tq with the stock TB and plenum than it has with the billetflow TB and Plenum. If your gonna do anything get yourself a ported blower, you really cant tell the difference in the ported blowers until 5000+ rpm IMOP. So if your looking for some "oh shit" power that you can feel I would get a lower, then work on the rest of your combo from there.

Thanks broke. Would I be wasting my time with a 2lb lower? Isn't the boost levels the same with a 2.9 upper and 4lb lower as with a 2.76 and 2lb lower?

I guess it depends on what size upper pulley you have right now. In your case you have a 2.76, so it would be about the same thing

Thanks for all your help fella's. You know what I'm just gonna save up another 2-3 weeks and do all of it at the same time. *uck it.
By the way great forum you guys have here. Keep up the good work.

i agree with broke, i wouldnt go any more then a 2 # on a 2.76 pulley. it will be useless on the street and you will be spinning the sh-t out of the blower.

as far as the t/b and plenum, imo , dont waste your money. i have a stock t/b and my car runs great with no idle problems that a t/b usually causes. the only thing u get from a t/b is crispe throttle response, if thats worth the $ to you , then go ahead. but theres alot of other mods i would do before i did a t/b .

good luck on what ever you decide on. :)
