From VT
Jimmy,

"""Just an update on the motor progress. A few minor things have popped up which will possibly cause a small delay. The main concern are the sleeves....the ones the old owners had made were a 3.725 bore...so unless you want a piston to wall clearance of .025 then new sleeves are needed. I already have them being made as quick as possible and they should be done Fri/Mon and back to us tuesday. The only other issue is im still waiting on Cometic for the head gaskets, but hopefully they are done in the next couple of days. Everything else is goining great. Heads are done, valvetrain is all here...in fact, everything is all here, just the sleeves are gunna cost us a few days down time before we can assemble. Im sorry for the delay and hope you understand you run into these things sometimes.....I'm trying to react to these problems ASAP so we can get you this new bullet very soon. Once the sleeves arrive, it's only a matter of a few days sleeve install and final assembly."""""

The Cometic Gaskets Arived today..... :rockongoo

I have to say this sounds so so cool after seeing how fast your Cobra was last weekend. I do have one question. I hope this does not sound dumb. With the 5.2 motor will the rev limit still be the same or is there a downward shift of the redline ?

keep one thing in mind redvenom...the guys on this board dont view any questions as dumb. ask any question you want, and you WILL get the correct answer, with no BS involved. the guys on this site are very cool when it comes to that, so dont feel like you cant ask a question. because no matter how dumb of a question it may seem to you, someone else will probably read the response and say to themselves" damn, i didnt know that"

That's a good question, I would say the power band will probably move up a little, when they put it on a dyno we will see.

For the most part, adding the stroke will bring down the peak redline of the motor. The motor will make power at a lower rpm range. However, the big bore allows the motor to make more top end power. Therefore, when you add both together (big bore stroker), they almost cross each other out, which keeps redline/shiftpoints very similar to stock conditions. BUT, we also went with a more aggressive camshaft profile, which could allow the engine to make peak power higher still in the rpm range. The dyno will tell the story.....

Yes please keep the updates coming, as I am very interested in this combo too. Looking forward to seeing what it will put down on the dyno and what the usable powerband is (as per my questions regarding stroker vs kenne-bell)
