blown03 made a post that there is a couple extra spots open for the nov 11th atco track rental. where is all the 5.0's, foxbodies, sn95's. is anybody jumping in on this or will i be the only one out there doing battle with the ol'mighty cobra's. let me rephrase that, the only one out there getting beat up on by the ol'mighty cobra's, LOL.

Having not seen Blwn03's thread.....what is the cost and what time do we show up? I really only want to make a few passes but it'd be cool to put all the names on here to faces. I have sh!tty hard compound tires and I rarely beat on my car too hard so I will probably have some lame times for the work that's done to my car :o

i hear ya. i'm racing because i still sporting the stock motor. i still have a dollar or two in my pocket. the rental was posted a couple of months ago so i saved my pennies. richie, i would love to see your car with slicks go down the 1320, it would be a beast. maybe you can run it at the next one.

I have a set of slicks but the car is uncontrollable with slicks out back and wide radials up front. I have a set of good year skinnies for the front but not the rims. i am runninmg drag radials out back right now with the lowered suspension. The current setuip will not give me the true potential. I was planning on setting the car up for the track this winter. Run it next spring and then put it back to it's current state.

Could you explain this a little more: "the car is uncontrollable with slicks out back and wide radials up front". Uninformed minds would like to know more

what happens with wide radials up front and M/T et streets out back (NON-Radial) the radials up front tend to "steer" the car. It is hard to explain but one guy who drove the car described it a s "squirrelly". You feel it at about the top of second gear and above 50 mph. Imagine another car pushing your car from behind and you applying the front brake only. It has to do with the different traction characterisitcs of wide radials and non radials. Also, the non-radial M/T et streets side walls are softer than a radial tire. Scary $hit as you are fighting the steering. I'll try and find a more descriptive explanation.

So this doesn't present an issue with typical Drag Radials, right?

My car is still laid up - almost done. If I had her back, I'd be down for some track-testing. Maybe next time.

Mike88 - If you can't rally more support for a few more cars in our class......I'm going to the bottle for a 100shot and try to keep up with some of the Terminators. (j/k - assume that such a scenario is VERY unlikely)

Nahh, don't worry. N20 has never been part of "the vision", so don't expect to see me throw away money like that just for the rental. Hell I won't even spring for a handheld tuner cause it would be replaced later....
