Is Facebook Evil?

I think it's a genius idea and I frequently wonder why I couldn't think of such a simple concept.

However, I agree it causes harm in some ways, like the ease of connecting or reconnecting with people that might cause problems in relationships or how it consumes so many who can't go a day without their Facebook fix. It's somewhat of an obsession for people and we have become accustomed to the numb feeling of status updates to keep in touch with people we care about while following the people we don't like, like stalkers.

That being said, the great it's done for the economy giving both small and large businesses another outlet for advertising and promotion has to outweigh the negatives. The concept of Facebook fascinates me being the tech / web guru I am.

Facebook has allowed me to connect and reconnect with people that I otherwise would not have had contact with. I do not think it is evil, but I do think that you have o be careful.

i dont have one, and dont want one personally. i know that if you do look up someone you shouldnt, its still you using it and your own temptation, but i would rather keep my self out of it. more for the reasons all my friends are always look at what everyone is doing.. etc.. starting fights.. blah blah gossip. i personally dont want any of it. but like stated, its the user, not the designer. it is great though for businesses to get more business on a eletronic platform. i dont know Ford is about to launch a large web based advertising campain as far as customers inquiring about cars and research, since more people now look at everything online and have decided on something before they step on the lot.
