These oil companies have to be kidding. Exxon/mobil posted up there earnings for the quater....10 BILLION....WTF. they say it's because of iraq, and the hurricanes.....BULLSHIT......What the hell does iraq have to do with oil. Oil has been coming out of these countries at a steady stream...There has been no slow down on deliveries...Or even there abilities to pump it out of the ground. there has got to be something we can do about this....Maybe boycott one oil company and when they are not selling gas like they should be, they will have to bring the price down, and that would make the others follow suit....I am being sucked dry, and not the way i like to be.....

Iraq is causing our Military to burn HUGE amounts of fuel for equiptment, vehicles, generators,Aircraft,Transporta tion of goods/troops/supplies in and out of Iraq.
The money being wasted over there aint just bullets and bodybags.

they should use that money to modernize there refineries,so the the cost of producing gasoline, fuel oil and diesel could become cheaper, and that the price of fuel could become cheaper for us.

If you're thinking what I'm thinking I want in!

But what they get is from over there.....So there is a huge savings in transportation fees and such...
The profit, is just rediculous...It was nice that the oil companies decided to give us some help and not raise the price anymore...They might have made another 5 billion.
I don't need vasaline anymore......LOL

I don't need vasaline anymore......LOLthis is america. I bet bush is having the oil they are using go to the US. get refined and then get shipped back to Iraq for our troops
The sad part is that the Oil Co. Exxon\Mobil will never be punished for price gauging, and taking advantage of the American public! :smashhead

That's because they don't set the price of oil....the market does. If americans didn't freak out everytime something threatened the oil or gasoline supply the market would stay steady. Exxon/Mobil has next to NOTHING to do with setting the price of oil. OPEC does....brokers on wall streer do :)
You should look around the world and consider yourself lucky. The US is by far the largest user of gasoline...and our priced are still 2-3 dollars a gallon less than they are throughout europe and asia.
For a quick (but prob not 100% accurate) example.....
in 1970 a fully loaded cadillac was what? 5-6k?
in 2005 a luxury car is anywhere from 60-80k
that amout to 10 times what it cost in 1979
So, say gas prices were 50 cents a gallon in 1970.....50 cents times 10 would be $5.00 per gallon....gasoline inflation rates are behind everything else.....I feel lucky :)

But...but...it's a supply and demand thing that drives the prices...

I seem to recall our astute Prez stating that the oil over there was going to pay for the war. Yep.
