To complete my Faleen I got 18" Hyperblack Saleen Replicas. I like them much better than the 17" Cobra R's.
Here is a before and after shot....

Thanks everyone! And yes I will try my best to keep it out of the snow hehe. Last winter just about killed the chrome on my cobra r's. Then again I got lazy with keeping them clean too....

I bought them at http://www.wheelreplicas.com/sstyle.htm
With tax and shipping the total was $829. Not including tires.

Do you absolutley have to? NO
IS it smart to prevent tarnishing?? YES
They have a product similar to clear cote that is meant for protecting polished rims from pitting and tarnishing which i believe is called 'aluminum diamond cote'....or you can use the trucker method:
PROTECTING YOUR ALUMINUM DURING WINTER
To protect your aluminum, stainless, and crome during winter. To help reduce the damage road salts, sodium chloride, and other damaging chemicals our highway departments apply to the roads. Just apply and oil base product (W-D40, Pam cooking spray, diesel fuel, ect...) to the surfaces each time you wash, or you expect to be traveling in these conditions. The protection this provide's is unbelievable and works well! Try this or E-mail me with other suggestions.
WHAT ARE THOUGH'S LITTLE BLACK DIMPLE'S ON MY ALUMINUM? Thats sodium chloride etching, and creating a pit on the surface. If you don't do nothing about it, you'll soon have a pit in the surface. This is a very good sign to flash brightin (with acid by a profesional), too remove the sodium chloride, and machine polish, or hand rub back to a mirror like finish. Then protect future attack with a patroleom based product, during any other encounters with the nasty stuff during winter.
hope this helps :icon_eyes

The road salt kills the wheels.

18's look so sick. totally made the car , i think.
i got 17's right now but i am going with 18's. i want to get cobra r's and then powdercoat them black.
i got a body kit too (xenon)so the 17's look shitty, but i think a dose of 18 inch wheels are the perfect cure.
